April teaches in the BSN program at the University of North Georgia. She is also a DNP student with a planned graduation date of May 2025. Her area of interest for her project is Post-Intensive Care Syndrome. She has 18+ years of critical care nursing experience, including working as an OR nurse and nurse manager at the bedside. She currently also works part-time as a nurse practitioner at Mercy Health Center in Athens, Georgia. She has been actively involved in AACN for many years and currently serves on the Region 6 Planning Committee.
