Upcoming Deadline: Nominate for AACN’s 2025 Governance Leadership Positions
The AACN 2024 election is closed. Thank you for making your voice heard and for your assistance in promoting voting among your chapter members. The election results were posted in early May.
In the meantime, here is another meaningful way to help secure strong leadership for our future. Help advance the voice of nursing, advocate for Healthy Work Environments, and impact the future of our nursing community through this unique, rewarding leadership opportunity.
Nominate yourself or a colleague to serve on any of AACN’s three governing bodies:
AACN Board of Directors
AACN Certification Corporation Board of Directors

New AACN Standards for Appropriate Staffing
AACN has published new, action-oriented guidance to address the complex challenges of nurse staffing. Developed by a work group with representatives from a variety of roles in nursing, “AACN Standards for Appropriate Staffing in Adult Critical Care” outlines seven standards to implement appropriate staffing in everyday operations and patient care.
We invite you to share these standards with your chapter members, as each one includes actions for organizational leaders, clinical leaders and direct care nurses, as well as exemplars, tools and resources.
New! Earn Your Sepsis Micro-Credential
As nurses, we know that early recognition and treatment of patients with sepsis is essential, and our crucial first assessment can impact patients’ odds of survival. To support healthcare teams in providing optimal care for patients with or at risk of sepsis, AACN has launched a new Sepsis Micro-Credential.
Earning the Sepsis Micro-Credential — the latest addition to AACN’s growing portfolio of micro-credentials — validates your knowledge in this specialized area of care. Micro-credentials not only support clinical excellence, they advance your professional growth and promote patient safety. These “bite-size” credentials are accessible, affordable and time-efficient complements to traditional certifications you may hold. Available AACN micro-credentials:
- Sepsis
- Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO)
- COVID-19 Pulmonary and Ventilator Care
Please share this new credentialing opportunity with your members and encourage them to consider pursuing the Sepsis Micro-Credential – or one of the other AACN micro-credentials – as the next step in their nursing journey!
